How to Make Dad Happy And Proud
What is the best food to make for Dad on Father’s Day?
According to my unofficial poll—a sample that consists of my three brothers, my husband and my dad—the answer to that question is BBQ RIBS.
So, to honor the belly wishes of those all-important guys—whether they be the
six-pack or marshmallow model—I have two tips for you:
To make loin ribs as tender and fall-off-the bone succulent as possible, take a few minutes to remove the membrane on the concave, bone-side of the ribs. By removing this non-permeable membrane, you will open the ribs up for a full infusion of smoky flavor and allow them to baste themselves in their own juices.
Using a dull knife, just pry a corner of the membrane away from the bone. Then, using a paper towel for traction, peel the yucky thing away.
Make your own barbeque sauce. Sure, there are a ton of pretty good bottled ones on the market, but for Dad, only homemade will do.
Here is a link to my favorite Better Homes and Gardens BBQ sauce recipe. This sauce is the one will be drenching my hubby’s grilled ribs in this weekend. I hope the dad in your family loves it as much as mine does.
